Jan 18th, 2008: A new nontoxic crop enhancer you’ll likely be hearing more about: Soysoap, developed by Pico Ag. American soybean growers that have tried it say it improves crop growth, health and yields. Rice farms in Southeast Asia, where it’s called Soysoap 1, also use it. Aug 29, 2008: Consider a new nontoxic crop enhancer called Soysoap that boosts yields of field crops, farmers report.

Jan 2nd, 2009: Soysoap: Organic and worth a look-see when planning ’09 field crops, A nontoxic growth enhancer, it has raised soybean and grain yields in the Midwest and Southeast...Rice in Asia, too. Application cost is under $4/acre, and we think that Soysoap will prove valuable to growers.

Feb 27, 2009: Luckily, green, productive and often cheaper methods abound: An assortment of bio-based crop growth enhancers...they’re nontoxic and most likely OK for organic use. Three are Bio-Forge, CarbonPower and Soysoap. Other soil treatments, such as adding earthworm casings, have proved useful, too .

May 17, 2013: A plant-based soap that helps root absorption is boosting crop yields. The latest field trials show the product, Soysoap, was especially effective in parts of the Corn Belt where a late summer and fall drought developed in ’11. That’s good news for farmers fighting to keep crops thriving in a drought. Over a three-year testing period, corn yields were up in Ill., Ind. and Ohio. 12 bu./acre more after being sprayed with Soysoap, a surfactant, at the two-leaf stage, vs. control plot yields. Soybeans. Nearly a 5 bu./acre gain. Economic advantages may go beyond crop yields: If crops can absorb more fertilizer, less of it will be needed, trimming costs. And with weeds’ quicker rate of absorption…less herbicide, too. The cost of two sprayings a year runs $3-$6/acre.
